LevFin Interview Case Study

For an interview for an analyst position in LevFin that consists of a case study, including a modeling portion, that is "relevant to the day-to-day job." What will the case study will consist of? Which resources should be used to prep for this? Any other helpful advice?

Thanks!

A lbo model should be helpful. You probably won't be expected to know it flat but if you can do one then Lev Fin modeling should be OK. Case study will probably include the relevant facts of an acquisition. Would also reccomed knowing how to do a EV and DCF. Good luck .

Like the unadjusted- only with a little bit extra.

I work in LevFin as an associate.

It's quite standard for us to throw a typical PE-style case study to candidates - i.e. build a full lbo model from scratch based on K/Q, etc, including returns analysis and valuation. The focus, however, will be on credit analysis, depending on if the leverage is cash flow or asset based. Lastly, someone who's able to model debt schedule well - e.g. ability to handle multiple tranches of debt incl. cash flow waterfall, PIK instruments, equity components/warrants, holdco/opco, etc stands out.
