Lifestyle at EB's
Interested in hearing about the lifestyle at places like PJT, LAZ, EVR, HL, GHL, PWP, CVP, GUG, Rothschild, etc. specifically in NYC. If someone could provide input on the following that would be sweet:
Is there a noticeable change in lifestyle (hours, free time some weeknights) once being promoted to associate? Which banks tend to have the most vertical mobility?
How much weekend work on average is expected as an analyst/associate?
Do analysts/associates find time to stay in shape ie. go to the gym, work-out? Do most juniors go early morning or late afternoon during a lull period?
Thanks.

It really depends. One of the associates that I was staffed with worked more than anyone else at the firm. I don't know if they brought that on themselves, but there was no such thing as work life balance for them.

At a top EB and associates work the same hours as analysts unless things are slow. Similar for VPs.
Would you say your hours are roughly the same as juniors at BB’s?
Please enough about the lifestyle and hours. my gosh every 1 out of 3 posts nowadays is about WLB
highly dependent on bank and group. at an EB and work more than my peers in BB coverage groups but on par with those in M&A. first year associates work the same or more than analysts as they get up the learning curve.
When will people learn, WLB balance is 100% group dependent.
