BDT is a merchant bank with a 14B latest fund. Dont know if I would put it in here. Same with Raine but I guess it still kinda qualifies.

Were companies like PWP or GHL at one point like the groups mentioned above?
Not really... both Greenhill and Perella are typical EBs, unlike the firms above that are more specialized firms. You can't really compare them.
Also, it's not like Greenhill or Perella "evolved" to become more generalist EBs: Greenhill was 10-15 years ago what Centerview is today - a small firm focusing on high-profile M&A and strategic advisory mainly to large corporations; Perella followed a similar path, albeit it was founded a little later. Either way, both firms were never really specialized boutiques focusing on a specific sector (eg TMT (like Raine) or Healthcare (like MTS))
Aeris Partners and MTS Partners are pretty elite in their coverage sector.
MTS is pretty strong for healthcare
Aeris isn't "elite" in any sense lol
I have a friend who works there and they comp very well.
I think for Europe you could also mention Arma Partners. They are doing quite well in the tech space, advising on many significant software deals in Europe
Any info on internship comp for London? What head hunter do they use? Do they sponsor?
