Long distance relationship with another banker, lawyer, doctor?!

After I graduate, I'll be FT in NYC and my S/O will be in med school in the Midwest. I'm wondering if anyone has any good advice on whether or not the relationship is worth it?! Does distance actually work if you both are in an intense industry regarding hours?I've seen some threads saying some good and some bad but would like some new context

One of my friends went to work for AWS in sales while his now fiancé went to medical school. They lived in different states (would need to catch a flight to see each other),yet they always made time for each other. Fast forward to her graduation, they stayed together that entire time and will be getting married soon.

Yes, this is possible to manage. You just need to have open communication and be willing to travel to see each other in order to maintain a healthy relationship. If you don’t see this being a long-term relationship, then I would understand why one would end it. However, if you do see something long-term then you should put in the effort.
