lying about graduation to get an internship

Hi, a lot of you may think I'm an idiot just for asking this, but I think it may be a good idea.

I have not being able to get an IB SA internship. This is my last summer, and I was thinking about saying I was gonna delay my graduation by one semester in order to secure an internship in a Big 4 acct firm.

The only want students with at least 2 summers left. The internship is a split between auditing dept and advisory.

I think doing this is better than doing an internship at Merrill Lynch (pwm).

My intention is not to get a FT position but to get a Decent internship thus last summer.

What do you think?

I guess my question would, how could they really find out? Technically, I think I can still delay my graduation.

For example if I like the internship, I could in fact delay by one semester. If not, couldn't you also changed your mind and took 20 units your last 2 semesters

Ok, I don't think you fully understand what I was saying.

I'm gonna try to break it down barney style for you. Hopefully, you pay attention this time:

1) Take the internship (summer 2015), indicating I will be graduating dec 2016 instead of may 2016 in order to get obtain a minor in statistics.

2)Apply to IB FT positions during Fall 2015.

3) If I'm unable to get anything in IB during Fall 2015, I would in fact delay my graduation to Dec 2016 instead of May 2016.

4)Problem solved

Get it now?

I read this and thought to myself: This kid will have a hard time being successful. You should work on yourself.

You know what, you are right. After reading your post, I have decided not to pursue this opportunity. I have realized lying does not get you anywhere.

I quick ethics lesson is exactly what I needed. Please disregard this discussion.
