McCafferty & Co.

Does anybody know anything about this tech, media & entertainment boutique in LA? They do not have tombstones on their website but seem to be pretty busy in terms of deal flow from what I have heard. Anyone know anything about dealflow, experience, pay, etc?

lots of UCLA / USC students use mccafferty as a last resort internship in order to have some sort of banking exp on their resume for full-time recruiting. They will also use McCafferty as an internship during their sophomore year in order to attempt to get a sophomore SA position. Most are successful in leveraging the McCafferty name.

Worked as a summer analyst. Quality of the bank's output is good. The bank consistently brings in new clients and their focus on research helps analysts really understand the industry and the companies. They value curiosity and are very transparent with expectations and feedback. If you are a hard worker, you will get the responsibility to do more (attended client meetings as a summer analyst).

During my time there, the bank had more active deals than the number of analysts + associates (seemed typical). Given its location the firm receives a lot of applications from schools like UCLA, it also recruits at places like Wharton (the website's team information is not up to date). The firm has notable clients like RTL. If you work at McCafferty, you will get to work with Hollywood firms.

If you want the boutique experience and want to learn, this is a good bank to check out.
