Mizuho Investment Banking Commercial??
Have seen this commercial played a number of times while watching football over the past couple weeks. What is this point of this? Why is Mizuho marketing their investment banking platform like it’s some kind of consumer product? If anyone has any ideas on why this makes sense would love to hear it….
Also saw this and was wondering why they thought it was a good idea.

Build up name recognition in the US. Most Americans wouldn’t know any of the major non-US banks outside of the big 4
Why would Mizuho care if they become a household name in America? Not like any boutique banks are household names
Boutique banks don't compete for the same sort of mandates that Mizuho does/is shooting for... More to IB than just M&A, y'know.
