Moelis & Co. Boston & NY

I have an interview coming up this week

Does anyone know about what deals MoCo has done in NY so far? I'm not sure where to look.

Also, I've heard that Robert Crowley is the MD who just opened the boston office. Do people know anything about him? I was able to find out that he specialized in the homebuilding sector, and that was it.

No clue which ones were done by LA and or NY:

Hilton Hotels / Blackstone Cannery Casino / Oaktree Advisor to Finish Line, Advisor to Entravision

What position is this for?

They hired David Faris for Chemicals, so they might have done some Chem deals out of NYC. Also hired Kurt Larsen from Cerberus, so there might be some PE work going on, I don't know if your position is for just Banking, or both Banking and PE.

My on campus FT Analyst interview a while back: Interview both technical and fit... you should really show interest in the firm by knowing the history of its founders. Technical is nothing out of the ordinary for IB interviews.

Good luck.

dlj la was at one point the super high yield power house - moelis was head of that group - then dlj was bought by csfb- culture clash - ubs poached the dlj la group (all this happened in late 2000 it think). so ubs la was the hy powerhouse now - and then many years passed, i don't know how good uba la is at hy any more and moelis started moelis & co. you can also go further back from dlj la and trace some of its roots to drexel/michael milken and co.

you know, someone should write about this - sort of a den of thieves part II.

Are they taking interns at their Boston office? When they came to campus they just said Crowley works there and it isn't a real office for them... Maybe they are expanding out that office?

I knew DLJ was a major player in HY after the fall of Drexel and the CSFB/DLJ Culture Clash (Though not everywhere in the firm surprisingly, office dependant...) I just didn't realize that you meant it Moelis was founded by guys that were a part of DLJ/UBS LA.
