Morgan Stanley Capital Markets vs. Macquarie Investment Banking?
SA2021 offers. How different are pay, and exit opps? I've read a fair amount about Macquarie exit opps, but how about capital markets at MS? I'd probably try to get into ECM.
Also, is it better to do IBD summer analyst with MacCap and then try to recruit full time IBD at a different bank (if I dont want to stay with Macquarie) or capital markets within MS and try to switch to IBD at MS after internship?

Absolutely MS; much better brand.
BBs tend to have good internal mobility so getting to IB is something you can reasonably do. Pay for MS CM and MS IB should be similar at the analyst level, but you’ll need to go to IB if you want to exit.

moving from MS GCM to MS IBD is not easy at all.. tons of people try to do it every year but only a few are allowed to, and that’s after spending 2 years in GCM. internship in GCM to FT in IBD is near impossible. would take a place like RBC IBD over MS GCM.
Not true, have personally seen several people intern in GCM and move to IBD for full-time (however, it may be harder now that the internships are actually separate and you would have to explain why you then applied to GCM and not IBD).

I'd probably go with the MS name, but why ECM? MS has LevFin under GCM.
yeah I would think if you make sure you’re in MS LevFin within GCM, you’ll be better off wholistically

Forsure that's where it's concentrated given most 1st yrs tend to hang out with eachother, even when not at work given they've just moved to wherever the office is.
To me, it depends on what locations and groups. NY Macquarie is pretty strong and SF is growing. Besides that, the MIRA/infrastructure group is top notch and TMT second. if either of these id do Macquarie but if not then MS
Avoid Macquarie like the plague - their intern class this year received less than 50% return offers.
