Morgan Stanley Guidance

I was hoping someone could help me understand the recruiting process for them a little bit.

I have attended some of their webcasts (virtual, so no face time) and according to the recruiting timeline the next step is to attend an Ambassador Event, but I can’t find any events of the sort listed online. Is it just yet?

I have another internship at another firm this summer, but I’d definitely like to explore Morgan Stanley whether it’s for another internship or full time position. I just feel like I won’t get in without actually walking in the building and talking to someone.

Thanks in advance.

Ambassador events are held by firm ambassadors if you have any at your school. However, not all of them do it unless there's the demand for it (large amount of students reaching out). It's more common at target schools with several ambassadors. Since they are likely done with recruiting and I don't think 2020 recruiting will begin until late spring, there is not much you can do now besides networking (campus ambassadors are a great resource).

It's good that you attended the webcasts, if you have a strong resume they'll keep you on their radar which will 1) get you a first round when recruiting comes around, 2) get you into more events. Assuming you are a sophomore and still have a summer after your 2019 internship, I suggest you reach out to any alum or incoming analysts and ask about their experience and what their recruiting process was like, if you impress them they can both connect you with more people or forward your resume to HR for when recruiting comes around. Since you already have a summer lined up make sure to remain polite and never bash or say you are not interested in your current internship.

Hope this helps!
