wait huh? internship? the only "Exit opp" is getting a full time job from the same firm. the "comp" (which I don't think you'd really call it for an internship), is likely the same.

machinegunfunkI've heard MS Tech Menlo is absolutely top notch, one of the best group on wall street period (close to MS M&A and GS TMT) so unless you hate the west coast i would go there

This. Also, Menlo Park isn't exactly a city, but again, if you're looking at this from an experience / exit opps perspective, MS tech in Menlo is top-notch.

back in the days the ms menlo park office was supposed to be a lot of fun, i guess those times are over. living conditions are obviously different to nyc or la but if you are into tech its perfect, given location and deal flow.

If you want West Coast tech, it is second only to GS TMT in SF.

That said, Menlo Park in the summer...Stanford won't even be in session, so it will be dead. It's not like you will have much free time as an analyst though.

I am not sure how easy it would be to move back east. It is a top group, but going West to East is generally harder than the reverse.

Also, it is a lean group. They will work you really hard (apparently Lazard hours or more), but you will also get great experience. I don't think they have too many analysts, so you won't have the "analyst class" experience.

Basically, it is a great learning opportunity if you can live with the trade offs and like the West Coast.
