Need Advice about Toronto I-banking Vs Corp Dev in US

Hey guys, I am looking for some good advice on making a serious career decision. I was supposed to start in one of BBs in NY, and due to personal reasons have to move to Toronto now for a year upon which I can come back to NY. I have no clue about the banking scene in Toronto and how it will affect my career going forward. I want to know if starting off in Toronto is better than gettin a CorpDev job right away.
