Need Advice on breaking in to the sector

Hi, I am a recent Australian undergraduate (corporate finance) looking for advice on my best pathway to break into IB or consulting. I have had little to no success with graduate intakes and I attribute this wholly to my poor performance during the first year of my bachelors. My reason for doing poorly is because I opened my own business, which is still operational, however I wish to gain more meaningful professional experience.

I have been accepted into a master of finance course at my university and I am curious if this is the best pathway to take to help erase my poor past performance. My fear in regards to this is the fact that I am aged 25 and worried I will miss the boat.
