Networking call with IB VP

I cold messaged a VP at BB and surprisingly he responded with a recommended time slot & asked for my email so he could arrange the call. We’re speaking next week. It seemed a bit odd that a VP would take it upon himself to plan out the call himself. Usually the responses id get would give me. Ague availability without a phone number or contact info. 

I haven’t really networked since uni. Now that i have some experience, I’m not sure what to bring up during the call, how to handle the flow or how to politely ask for a referral. His team hired 2 people last month outside the regular cycle. A recruiter told me they’re expanding this team aggressively and connecting it to another specialist European team. 

Any advice? Appreciate it in advance.
