Networking vs Studying Technicals in Recruiting
For recruiting, I spent nearly all of my time networking. I only started studying for technicals during winter break, and just went through all of the BIWS guides one time and took notes on them and answered the questions at the end, which took me maybe 10 hours total. I went through the 400 question guide in 1.5 hours once and that was it, no other review. Never had an issue on my technical interviews at BB, UMM PE Analyst interviews, or my one EB interview. I think too much emphasis has been put on grinding for technical interviews, which may be necessary if you're focusing on PJT RX, but getting the interviews in the first place via networking is where the vast majority of your time should be. I just haven't really seen anyone say this recently so just wanted to put my thoughts out there for freshman who are thinking about how to approach the recruiting process.
even pjt rx tests a lot of qualatitive/soft technicals which are usually harder than normal things
