New Member Seeking Last Minute Advice

Hi Monkeys,

I am new here on WSO and wanted to ask for some advice on my current situation. I'm a current sophomore at a non-target in the NJ/NY area majoring in finance and economics and have a 3.65 GPA. The only work experience I have is in retail and logistics operations.

I know I am a bit late, but after looking at my options, enjoying my corporate finance and M&A course, and networking with upper-classmen, I have seriously decided to pursue investment banking. I recently learned how the recruitment process works, and I wish I weren't so behind, but I have to do what I can at this stage. I have nothing lined up for this summer, and thanks to this forum, I learned about cold emailing firms for gigs and how to network. I started prepping for behavioral & technical questions and purchased WSP's premium package to teach myself modeling.

Should I start networking with people who work at every BB and MM bank that I would like to work at and shoot out cold emails to local boutiques starting tomorrow and ask for a paid or unpaid summer gig, or am I too late for that? I have a list of boutiques and people ready to contact ready, but I want to read what you guys have to say on what I should do and enhance my chances of getting interviews. Any advice is deeply appreciated!

Thanks, Everyone!
