NYC Monkeys~~

First off, this is a long shot, but you miss every shot you don't take, so I figured why not..

Anywho, I'm currently a student at California State University Long Beach, and my honors finance class will be taking a trip out to NYC in the latter part of the spring semester to see the stock exchange and meet with a few contacts my professor has working in the industry. If any of you would be willing, we would love an opportunity to come visit your office, and hear whatever you may have to say about the financial industry, in hopes that we can apply your insight to our lives as we begin our careers.

The majority of the first half of the class is focused around building a theory to apply to 3 portfolios that we as a class manage. 2 with money from the school, and a third to compete in an international challenge through the CFA Institute. And the second half is predominantly about applying that theory to the portfolios, and seeing what we can make happen. That being said, we're definitely not all Wharton caliber students, but there are definitely more than a few bright minds in the group that would love an opportunity to get a better look at what your lives are like, working where we one day hope to.

If any of you may be willing, or might have contacts that would be, please do not hesitate to let me know. Thank you for your time, and hope you're all having a wonderful holiday season.

Optimistically,

Elliot

Might I ask how? 18 students in the class, students interested in careers in everything from real estate to hedge funds to teaching. Literally. Any connection that could be made could be insightful to at least someone in the group, which is why I kept it extremely vague. Didn't want to shut any doors before they had even opened lol. If you would like me to refine what I would be looking for in particular, please let me know. But I felt just about any advice from people on this page could be seen as insightful by a few students in the group.
