Official Investment Banking Interview Resource Thread

Hi everyone, after going through recruit myself, I thought I'd rank the top resources I used when preparing for interviews. Thread is open for you to post your favourite as well!

Gold Tier

  • Breaking into Wallstreet Guides: BIWS is the classic for those who are starting to learn the new concepts, with ton of questions to practice from. Unfortuantely not free though unless you get from friends.
  • FinMock: Good free resource I found with more than 500+ questions sourced from real interviews at firms like Goldman Sachs, Moelis, and Evercore. You can use its flashcard system to mock yourself (kinda like a Quizlet)
  • Wall Street Oasis: I mean you're all here right now, but during recruit I kept my eyes glued to new posts and discussions on the firms I was interviewing for. Don't underestimate the power of WSO!

Silver Tier

  • Investopedia:This is a content heavy website with explanations on a large variety of topics in finance. Really good to learn about concepts.
  • WallStreetMojo: There are some pretty good interview questions and guides there. However I'd say ranks under WSO and Investopedia in terms of content.
  • WallStreetPrep: I purchased their modelling package when recruiting and it was really helpful. However, it is quite pricey so it is in Silver Tier.

Bronze Tier

  • Corporate Finance Institute: Another website like Investopedia. However keep in mind the writers are mostly freelanced university students, which gets editted by CFI staff. Validity is sometimes questionable, and I've found mistakes on posts before.
  • Sell Side Handbook: Another blog-like website with interview questions and concept explanations. My favourite part is the industry primers they do, a really good way to get caught up on a sector if you have interview coming up. However, some stuff seems to be slightly outdated.

Hope this helps, and feel free to post resources in the threads! Happy recruiting!
