I’ve seen a lot of blatant misinformation circulating around this forum about the most prestigious investment banks. I thought I’d contribute my knowledge.
As an IB prospect, I have never worked in the industry (and therefore unbiased). Additionally, I didn’t land an offer for SA 2024, so I won’t be swayed to a bank. Actually, I’ve never worked in finance a day in my life.

In 1992 maybe. Lazard not on anyone's top 10. Centerview, Moelis, PWP, PJT, Evercore all better boutiques.
Evercore is way too high — everyone I know who works at Evercore is an insufferable hardo. IMO Centerview > Laz > Moelis > Evercore > PJT
PJT is also carried by their RSSG group. Disregarding RX, PJT shouldn’t be near the top 15

Only a fool would take a job at Evercore or Qatalyst above GS. Maybe 0.005% of people have even heard of Qatalyst, and PJT has no business above JPM, Moelis. Thin franchise very few in the business world have heard of, let alone anyone outside of it.
LionTree is too low, by far the most slept on firm on the street. Should be above Guggenheim at least
