Our future

Alright this isn't another post about how STEM graduates are going to become the next great thing and take over the future business landscape of America nor is this about the rate of automation and the introduction of AI that could make use feel as though we are apart of a black mirror episode.

Instead i was wondering about how the industry will be affected by CLIMATE CHANGE . Specifically because of the growing concern about the possibility that our actions may be irreversible. I am not a die hard green party supporter and am surely am not someone who will preach about how Teslas are a product of our lord and saviour Elon Musk. Our world is changing regardless if you believe in it or not and obviously will have terrible outcomes.

I wanted to get your opinions on the changes that could occur to the finance industry when sea levels rise, droughts become more frequent, infectious diseases spread quicker, shortages of crops etc . I am genuinely worried about the future that i envisioned as someone who wants to succeed in finance.

How does this impact M&A?

Simple, the companies that are buying and being bought change. I don’t really see how it changes a thing other then creating a new alley for investment banks to brand themselves under (having a reputation as being the bank that helps socially responsible companies grow - it’s already happening go look at ClearBanc for example).

Ah thanks man , i never thought about how it could transition from m&a focused on typical deals to a more socially aware m&a. Does this mean that patagucci could team up with the investment banks and finally provide the vest again ?

Hahaha yes man exactly. I think Patagucci is going out of style because of their decisions tbh.

yeah tbh i really hope Patagonia comes back. The sole reason i want to get into IB isn't for the exit opp or the pay but it is for wearing deal sleads and wearing a patagccui vest over a dress shirt. Really makes me sad that I may never be able to experience that feeling of empowerment and a +10 attribute boost to my skillset by being posted on Litquidty's IG page.
