Oxford Commas?
I was networking with an analyst the other day and he told me that apparently most bankers do NOT like oxford commas, and suggested that I remove them from my resume. I thought this was weird because all my english teachers would always shit all over me for not using them, so I kinda assumed that using them was the safest option in a relatively conservative industry like banking. Wanted to see what the general consensus here was. What do y'all think? Yay or nay on the oxford comma?
I dont use oxford commas. Resume, pitches, CIMs etc. Never ran into problems.
In the words of my MD "I never went to Oxford so why do I have to use the Oxford comma?"
I was indifferent about Oxford comma use until I read about the situation linked below.

I'm a proponent of the Oxford comma but not in a work setting. My Associate / VP always got rid of them when I first started as an analyst so I don't use them in materials anymore, but I personally think Oxford commas make sense and use them outside of work.
The reason is that it's easier to search + replace for ", and" vs. "and" - easier to enforce consistency.
Don't use oxford comma in business writing, as others have said, this will just get deleted by those above you. I used them when I first started in FDD and it's been beaten out of me.
