PE/HF the dream

Hi Guys,

Currently have a FT lined up at BB in EMEA DCM FIG, (think GS, MS, RBS) having completed SA at MM PE shop think (KKR, CVC, 3i), but debating whether to accept FICC trading offer at PWM boutique specialising in EU CDS arb.

What are your thoughts regarding exit opps?

Ultimately want to be a BSD at my own HF/PE having completed a US MBA at HBS or LBS in UK and leveraging my network of potential future MD/CEOs, or do I need the CFA® as well?

SBs for helpful posts.

Thanks.

KKR is MM PE? Thats news to me.

Also life isn't an exit opp. Who gives a shit? Work hard, take names. YOU make your own exit opps. Stop being a function of the system....

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

Since when are GS, MS and RBS regarded as being in the same league? And KKR a MM?

BlackFinancier: Best sentence i've read in a while:

"Also life isn't an exit opp. Who gives a shit? Work hard, take names. YOU make your own exit opps. Stop being a function of the system...."

In the UK (where the SA was) KKR = MM due to lack of financing for LBOs (think Lev Fin/HY/IG/PIK/Mezz) in which RBS dominates in DCM as well as structuring (think ABS/MBS/CMBS/CDS/CDO/CLO).

Re exit opps: if i don't land a gig at a BB (think RBS, GS, MS, UBS, CS) or HF/PE then my only exit opp is sport (think NFL/NHL/NBA/MLG/WWF).

Thanks for the input guys, Maverick91 +1 congrats.
