Pleasing MD

Hey guys,

There is a new international analyst on our team who goes to our MDs office every morning and shakes his hand and says good morning. I think the norm is everyone passing by with a greeting if they see the seniors, but this guy will walk into the office, shake his hand, say good morning and then go to his desk. Sometimes he hangs around the elevator door on our floor for said MD in the morning to shake his hand and occasionally carry his leather bag like a bell boy.

What can I be doing to one-up this? Serious answers only.

I’m an intern so take this with a grain of salt, but I’m assuming your MD doesn’t actually get off to this handshaking shit. Just be friendly and continue to do good work, and hopefully the other analyst will realize it’s not necessary to be Greg and Toms human leg rest.
