Profile Evaluation/IB Chances

Hey everyone,

First, thanks to everyone reading this and responding. Let's get into the meat of things; a little bit about me:

  • Marine Corps for 4 years directly after high school, 1 deployment, combat MOS (job).
  • University of Oregon Undergrad, Econ major, 3.95 cumulative GPA, 3.90 Major GPA.
  • Will finish undergrad this June, completing my degree in only 2.5 years. (January 2018-June 2020)
  • Accepted at University of Tennessee for full time MBA (I know, non target). However, I'm getting a full ride due to time left on GI bill, also getting scholarship to go there.
  • Would like to break into private equity at some point, but know I need (would help to have) IB work.
  • Thinking of Charlotte, Atlanta or Nashville for IB work.

With this being said, 1. Do I stand a chance at IB recruiting at all? 2. If so, would it be better for me at this juncture (Post MBA) to pursue analyst or associate roles? 3. If you're laughing at this post by this point and my goals seem highly unreasonable, I would also like to be shot straight, so shoot me down if need be.

Looking forward to any feedback I can get!
