Property investment or corporate finance advisory
I have been offered two roles from two firms.
-
Is a property investment and acqusition role with the private banking arm of a non bludge bracket bank. Salary of around £28,000 + bonus
-
An analyst position with a corporate finance advisory firm. Money is more but they did say average hours are long and not much responsibility for the first few years - £40,000 + bonus
I was hoping that people with experience in both industries might be able to offer their opinion on these roles and what the pros and cons of both may be?

hours in advisory are AWFUl...
My buddy is at UBS and does 8-11 and Saturdays. Lifestyle choice as much as anything.
CF advisory at UBS, wouldn't that just be regular IBD anyhow?
Yes. I don't know why he's using the term 'advisory.' It's IB. We're on an IB forum.
Also, the original poster said that the 'property acquisitions' role would be within the private banking arm of a big firm. What the fuck does that mean? Private bankers do not acquire properties for investment purposes.
