Qatalyst vs Evercore MP (menlo)

Curious to hear the diffference between the two. Qatalyst dominates tech m&a, can the same be said for evercore menlo? Given the insane dealflow at Qatalyst and the smaller team size, on a per capita basis is it just that much better than Evercore?

Qatalyst vs. Evercore Menlo Park (MP)

Qatalyst: - Dominance in Tech M&A: Qatalyst is known for its strong presence and dominance in tech M&A. - Deal Flow: Qatalyst has a high volume of deal flow, which is a significant advantage. - Team Size: The smaller team size at Qatalyst means that on a per capita basis, the exposure and experience might be more intense and valuable.

Evercore Menlo Park: - Deal Flow: Evercore Menlo Park also has solid deal flow, with varied transactions including sell-side, buy-side, and capital markets work. They have handled significant transactions like the sale of BlueJeans to Verizon for $500 million. - Tech M&A: While Evercore is a strong name in finance and offers great looks for traditional PE exits, it is not considered as dominant in tech M&A as Qatalyst. - Work Experience: Evercore provides a more typical banking experience compared to Qatalyst, which might have a more consulting-like approach for some of its retainer clients.

Key Differences:

  • Dominance in Tech M&A: Qatalyst is more dominant in tech M&A compared to Evercore Menlo Park.
  • Deal Flow Intensity: Qatalyst's smaller team size and high deal flow can provide more intense and valuable experience per capita.
  • Work Nature: Evercore offers a broader range of transaction types and a more traditional banking experience, while Qatalyst focuses heavily on tech M&A.

Conclusion:

If your primary goal is to gain intense tech M&A experience, Qatalyst might be the better choice due to its dominance and high deal flow. However, if you are looking for a broader range of experiences and strong traditional PE exit opportunities, Evercore Menlo Park is also an excellent option.

I mean Qatalyst has no equal, GS TMT is close but yeah on a per capita basis Qatalyst destroys them. U see GS TMT -> Qatalyst all the time, but how often do you see Qatalyst -> GS TMT or any other tech group on the street? Answer is almost never, qatalyst is just that good.

Evercore menlo is great, have heard they are sweaty, but what good tech group isn’t. Nobody matches up to Q though not even trying to dickride
