Queens Commerce/Western Ivey as an American
Hi I am an american high school senior from NYC and interested in IB/Consulting. For personal reasons, I am interested in going to school at either Queens or western (I haven't heard back from Ivey yet but am into queens). I have read all the forums I can find on recruiting from these two schools, and it seems like visa sponshorship can be a limiting factor in some/many cases. Would recruiting be easier for me as I'm an American citizen?
I've applied to Target US schools and havent heard back, but if I got into any I would probably go. How would people compare Queens and Western to places like UW Madison, St Andrews, UCL (foundation year), Kelley, and Michigan LSA (would try to transfer into ross) for IB/Consulting in NYC or London? I really like Wisconsin and from what I've seen their IB club places strongly in NYC particualrly at GS...
Any thoughts would be appriciated.
As a Canadian, why are you trying to come here?
Being a U.S. citizen is a big advantage, but going to Western/Queens is foolish because the banks where you'll have the biggest recruiting advantage (non-sponsor banks) will have zero alumni presence. You should go to a U.S. school.
I have a family connection with canada and I like the culture of the schools, I also like the idea of going abroad for my undergrad. Would you recommend going to a non/semi target US school over one of the two canadian ones?
