Quickest way to brush up on the Tech sector as a whole

Hey guys,

Question for you all, particularly those familiar with tech banking: what is the quickest way to get up to speed on the tech sector as a whole?

Let me preface that with my background: I've spent the better part of the last 3 years as an IB analyst in FIG, predominantly focused on banks & thrifts (not even touching the fin-tech side of things). As expected, the breadth of experience vastly differs from that of other sectors, but given my location (Bay Area, California) and disdain for banks & thrifts, it is in my best interest to transition over to tech banking sooner rather than later, as I fear of becoming pigeon-holed in this FIG niche.

While it may sound a bit outlandish that I'm ready to jump into a sector that i'm not all too familiar with, I am more concerned with where I can find the best primers, research reports, websites/blogs, etc. that could act as a "Tech Industry for Dummies"-type deal, if such a thing exists. I'm aware that tech is broken down rather meticulously, from SaaS/software to semis to internet/media, and I've been trying to learn the industry from the bottom-up (through initiation reports of "subsector-exemplifying" companies, e.g. Oracle for Application Software) but this process is becoming rather tedious.

Any guidance, if at all, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
