Quit M&A to Non-profit? Help!!!

Hey guys, first-time post here, would really appreciate some advice.

I am currently an M&A associate in a non BB, large bank's IBD, Singapore office. (Somewhere like Nomura) This is my first job I got after getting my masters degree in International Finance at an Ivy league school in U.S. Before I did a finance management trainee program at a Big Japanese company's HQ in Tokyo for less than 3 years. Only around 8 months in the current M&A job but frankly I do not see much career progression for myself. Here are some reasons:

  • All my clients are Japanese I am Asian and speak fluently in Japanese hence all my clients are Japanese. So that really restrict the deals we could do outside of Japanese market and also my job scope.

  • Japanese Economy is stagnating My first language is Chinese Mandarin, so I want to focus my career more on greater Chinese market where there are more growths and money. Also culturally I will feel more comfortable working with non-Japanese. (No-offense to them)

So I just started to look around the market and got an offer from a non-profit mainly organizing big economic/finance conferences globally (similar to World Economic Forum) The role is more like business development where you maintain the relationship with the existing sponsors/donors and find potential ones in Asia. They were generous enough offer my current base salary (close to BB first year analyst) but no bonus. They claim the role will give you access to sit down with C-level persons in big funds, banks, companies and ultra-wealthy. Additionally, because the organization already has very well established network and the non-profit nature, it wouldn't be as cut-throat as the regular sales job. Without saying the lifestyle there is super chill, but I am not sure if this role could offer me good career progression and to what extent managing these relationships can benefit my personal career.

The director was saying you get to ask to work for the donors everytime you have meetings with them and quite a good path to become fundraisers for financial institutions or private bankers.

I also got some leads in off shore premium banking, due to my language and interpersonal skills. (Almost native in English since I went to international school since 13m)
May have some leads in mid to small size regional PE shops too. But honestly, I am not sure if I can do well in the industry in the long run.

Please give me some career advice since the non-profit is rushing me now. I know it's pretty late but I am very lost in my career right now. FYI, I am 28 female.
