Quitting during paternity leave

Hello, I am currently on paternity leave and don’t plan on going back to banking. Have a job offer to do something completely different and not sure what’s best way to do this. Anyone have any thoughts / experience? My leave ends in 3 weeks. Do I just send an email to my group coo / staffers the day my leave ends saying I’m done? Do I do it sooner? Since I’m not on any projects given I’ve been on leave for over a month already, they dont even need 2 week notice I assume. Not sure best practice for this situation.

I’ve looked into this before - Assuming you are still in the federal / state required time off period, you employer has to pay all of your outstanding wages up to the time you stop your leave.

My take is this - you lose nothing by giving them two weeks notice, might as well give it to them and tell them you will come in the day after your paternity leave ends to drop off your laptop.
