Raine group Comp/culture
Seems like a really interesting place but does anyone have information on the approximate comp/culture (wfh/work life balance) for Raine group? Thanks!

Career Resources
Was pretty deep in the process with them. They’re an awesome place to be and they’ve been on cool deals / investments. Close-knit culture - think I heard that the founder Joe Ravitch meets anyone who will join the firm full time. Assuming pay is above average.
Spots are slim, they interview from a limited number of schools, but retention is extremely strong there.
Do you know if they hire through laterals / and if full time conversion from an intern is high? Thanks for the insight!
Last summer 100% return rate – summer prior roughly 2 did not get return. They hire to fit analyst needs (meaning they don’t over hire interns), so a spot naturally opens up when someone doesn’t receive the return.
Any insights on London?
Absolutely killing it in EMEA sports. Chelsea, ManU, and many other really cool deals. Team is mega lean but haven’t seen anyone leaving this place in a long time (correct me if I’m wrong on this, haven’t double checked).
I admittedly check their transaction page a few times a month just to see what cool deals they are on. And I have no interest working in the spaces they cover lol.
I know someone who left just half a year ago - not because raine was bad in any way tho

comp is 120k base for ft not sure about bonus wlb is ur typical banking hours but culture is amazing
Can expect 75-100% bonus and i believe folks at all levels also receive (some minute amount) carry in their raine ventures fund. Since it is a merchant bank and folks at all levels have duties that entail both advisory (IB) and supporting the fund (VC).
I would love to work there. How can i
my resume is stellar but in energy, infra and P&U
im a 2nd year VP but might even be willing to step down to associate to work there
Along with comp/culture, how do they hire laterals? Recruiters, posting jobs on their website? Or do you have to reach out and network, express interest and they contact you if something opens up?
any idea on how exits look? particularly to MF PE
Most of their exits are to corporate / startup exits (which are stellar).
Extremely underrated firm, I'd say. Can't beat the culture there and comp is well above market. WLB also isn't terrible, though still subject to the usual banking monkey tasks and hours at times. Deserves much better name rec, especially in the tech / media space
Heard they haze on their annual firm-wide vacations. Analysts fly in the cargo section of the plane.
If you're a current employee, can I PM you to ask more Qs?
Any further insights? Weighing offers from Raine and some top BBs. Leaning towards the former because I LOVE the industry but a few points on relatively unknown brand names and the optionality of exits are holding me back. Not very sure if I want to be a career banker which is why I didn't pick them in a heartbeat.
What’d you end up choosing, PM me my friend weighed a similar situation

What did you end up choosing and why?
Signed Raine in the end (the other thread on GS/Raine was me) - end of the day, went with passion (sports deals), enjoyed the team, enjoyed the "dual nature" of getting to work on the growth equity ("PE")/more VC-like arm was a huge plus (have done PE before, liked it but don't think will want to be at a MFPE shop long term). So all in all may not be a career banker and the exits (if I do leave) tend to be more my thing than a "normal BB" per se. Think I fell out of love with the whole prestige illusion and all, and while BBs are ofc great shops with great exits, long-term MFPE not being a desired goal tipped me over the edge and so I chose to do something I like with a team I thought was pretty cool too.
Attended on-campus info sessions where representatives shared a welcoming, big-tech-style culture. Exposure both to IBD and VC/growth equity starting from SA/analyst, with seamless global relocation and fast internal promotion—some MDs began as analysts. Highly supportive of sponsorship/international students like Goldman Sachs and Evercore
