Raine Group Info?
hey everyone, just wondering if there was more info on Raine like comp/culture and where they stand up relative to EBs/BBs. Their verticals + merchant bank seems cool, just seems like a lack of info out there

Hey there! If you're looking for the scoop on The Raine Group, you've come to the right place. Here's what the jungle drums are saying:
Culture: Based on the most helpful WSO content, someone who met with the founder and an associate described it as a solid place where you'd learn a ton. That's a pretty sweet endorsement if you ask me!
Reputation: They've got a rep for being a boutique merchant bank, which means they're more specialized than your average investment bank. They're not as big as the bulge brackets or some elite boutiques, but they've carved out a niche that gets them noticed.
Compensation: While I don't have specific numbers for The Raine Group, the WSO dataset does provide a general idea of compensation in investment banking. For example, as of September 2023, an Investment Banking Director/MD averages around $592k, a Vice President around $392k, and it goes down from there to Associates and Analysts.
Standing: Comparing them to EBs/BBs is a bit like comparing apples to oranges because they operate a bit differently. But hey, being unique has its perks, and they seem to be doing well in their own league.
Verticals: They're known for focusing on media, sports, and entertainment, which is pretty cool if you're into those industries. It's like being at the crossroads of finance and the red carpet!
Remember, the best way to get the lowdown is to network and chat with folks who've worked there or are currently swinging through the vines at The Raine Group. Keep your ears peeled and your bananas handy – you never know when you'll need to trade one for some intel. Good luck!

I chatted with some analysts once, had nothing but really really good things to say! Great company culture, not too harsh hours, and they get to work with all tons of A-list celebrities on top of your typical CEOs

i was pretty serious about raine for a while/media banking, and I will say this: if you wanna work at raine, you 1.) are die hard media banker and 2.) want a long term career in media banking. it didn't pan out for me and I ended up going to a BB, but looking back I definitely realized I wasn't ready to commit to those two things. They also do take a fair amount of people FT if you keep your networking connections, so maybe keep that in mind. But they are extremely busy, get paid well, and work on extremely niche and cool media deals. Like Liontree but a little more fancy vibes IMO
edit: hours are lowkey tough too, like they compete with liontree so keep that in mind. not as much as a sweatshop vibes but they put in the work.
