I spoke with a MD at RBC about a month ago, things went really well, and he said he would forward my resume.
A few days ago I figured I should probably apply online anyways, but the website says they aren't accepting applications for first year analysts in IB. Did I miss a deadline?
I emailed the MD yesterday to follow up, but I haven't heard from him yet.

Are you talking about Global Markets? Because they decided not to recruit for the program this year. They extended 9 summer associate offers and made return offers to all of them - and all the offers were accepted. The Global Markets program class is only 12-15 people so they filled the rest of them through one offs.
Also, what location are you interested in?
Deadline for IBD Full-time analyst positions were earlier this week (Monday or Tuesday).
And as mentioned above, Global Markets didn't do any official hiring this year apart from some OCR recruiting for equity research/DCM (no S&T).
MBP how do you find out this sort of intricate detail on such a consistent basis?

I meant for IBD in America (NY), not global markets. And crap, looks like I missed the deadline to apply online. I mean the MD forwarded my resume awhile ago and never said to apply online. Am I screwed? Hopefully I hear back from him soon.
Shit I missed the deadline as well, I have a VP fuck I didn't even email him my resume yet since I was so busy chasing after other MD and VP. I'm hoping since deadline was Tuesday, Weds they get the apps look at them thurs and friday and make calls next week? I'm ask the VP tomorrow when I send my resume over..
Yeah I think the Canada/NY apps had the same deadline.
Also, first rounds are supposed to start on Monday, so calls will probably go out this evening/tomorrow (they said the whole process should wrap up by Oct 1)
Ok well, hopefully my MD pulls through for me. Like I said he forwarded my resume a while ago, I just never submitted an online application..
