Reach out to distant contact for internship?

Hi, I'm going to be a freshman at a semi-target (in southern california) this fall and only recently wanted to work in ib. During my sophomore year of high school (3 years ago) i was part of this summer business program and in one of our field trips we visited a bb bank in LA. I got some business cards from some of the bankers and just stashed them in my closet. Should i try emailing them even telling them that im interested in banking even though it has been almost 3 years since i met them?

Yeah, give it a shot. It could work out. Like someone else mentioned, there is probably a slim chance, but you won't know unless you try.

Do the email thing and if you get no response after a couple, just try and give them a call. I have always sent my emails early in the morning...5 or 6 am...this puts your email towards the top of the inbox...which is likely full of all sorts of crap, so if they are willing to respond, it will be in the early morning before they get caught up in the day. Good luck.

Regards
