Recruiting Follow Up

Currently in a few processes for lateral roles but still looking to move to a certain shop but they currently aren't hiring. Is it appropriate to follow up with the few contacts I made at the other places and let them know I am in a few different processes and maybe something will pop up on their end quicker?
