Referrer's Name

Hi everyone,

Many banks ask applicants to put down their referrers' names in their applications. Should I put down the names of bankers whom I had great conversations with before asking them? If not, what is the best way to email them and make such request?

Thanks a lot!

Not for IB specifically, but generally, I've been told to never put down anyone's name on anything without asking them first.
