REIT Investment Team position salary?

So I'm debating between two potential offers right now. On one hand I have a BB offer in Credit Risk, which I am fairly familiar with the salary progression of, but I also networked my way into an offer for a strong REIT on the Investment Team. Anyone have any insight on the starting salary and career progression of an Investment Analyst for a REIT? Will you ever be pulling in 300-500K per year as an associate of a REIT or is that type of money just not there?

I would 100% go for the REIT offer if you are comfortable pigeon holing yourself somewhat. That being said, it's a rather interesting and exciting area to pigeon hole yourself into. I think you have a much higher chance of learning the right skills to differentiate yourself down the line.

Credit risk roles at large banks always seem fairly boring dead ends to me.

300-500k as an Associate? No, never. That doesn't mean that it wouldn't happen soon thereafter. It depends on your compensation structure. Your base salary wouldn't normally exceed 200k until your a Director or VP while your bonus would be somewhere between 50-100%. Your stock-based compensation is the real difference maker.

Greatly appreciate the input from both of yall. If anyone has any input on the possibility of exiting REIT Investments and moving into REIT Financing or Real Estate Investment Banking for a bank I'd love to hear of someone else's experiences with that.
