Resume/Formatting Questions. Please help for SBs.

Hi guys,

I just have a few basic questions about how to list things on my resume. I'm a sophomore and am updating my resume in order to start reaching out to IB boutiques for this summer.

1.) I currently work a work-study job and have been since september of last year. I have this listed at the bottom under 'experience' saying September 2012 - Current. Above I have my PWM internship "July 2013 - Sept 2013", case competition above that, and current internship. Is this the proper way to order them? Does it matter that the bottom-most position is one I'm still currently at, or should I move this directly under my current internship? I'd rather not since it has nothing to do with finance, but I want them to know I have been working a job all year while maintaining my GPA.

2.) I just started my current internship at a private equity search fund a week ago. I'm really enjoying it so far but obviously haven't gotten any meaty work done yet that I would want to note on my resume. Would it be alright to just list this and say something in one bullet describing what the place is and what i'm gonna help out on? (i.e. - currently working directly with the managing partner of a private equity search fund seeking an acquisition of a business up to $5M in cash flow). Or does this go against some past tense/present tense rule?

Also, the same thing for a leadership position I recently got in Student Gov't. I have not really done anything for this yet (besides attend meetings) since we are going to start to get into things next semester but I would still like to list it with one descriptive bullet of upcoming duties. Would this be alright as well?

Sorry if this post is a bit long, and/or the questions may have been answered before. I'm trying to get this resume out to alumni as soon as possible. Thanks!

It might be more helpful if you uploaded a scrubbed version of it but I will give it a shot based upon the descriptions.

1) I think you will be alright with leaving the work study down towards the bottom so that the attention stays on the more pertinent finance activity.

2) I think you can try to build out 1 or 2 solid bullets about stuff you are currently engaged on or anticipate you will be working on. You can just acknowledge upfront that you are new on the job but that you have just started working on xxxx and xxxx if questioned about it.

For the student government, you can list activities that you expect you will do, or even better, if you have any ideas about something specific you plan on doing (such as organizing a fundraiser etc) that would be perfect to put down and just say you are planning it.
