Rewarding stuff outside of NY Banking?
So this goes out to all the New York bankers out there...I just started (09 grad) and was wondering if any of you all have found rewarding experiences / activities outside of the office that you are involved in?
Not really for resume, just in general to feel more like a New-yorker / get involved. Could be anything from volunteering committees, charities, sports leagues....just good organizations with young people that you all have found to be pretty solid
Anything is welcome. Thanks.
New York Cares is a cool program. Ive participated in a lot of their sports/mentor programs but they have a variety of activities ranging from teaching degenerates how to use a computer to taking care of geezers. Overall, a great experience.
Meetup.com is also great. You can meet people in the city to join in sports leagues, book clubs, investing clubs, poker, etc.
You should try speed dating. Its a lot of fun and there are lots of easy prey.
