Risk management: exit opportunities?

I am curious what are the exit opportunities for risk management (will also get a CFA) in a multinational commercial bank?

Is it realistic to move on to the front office (for instance, structured finance or corporate lending) after a few years as a credit risk analyst? What about further done the road? Any opportunities in other industries, such as PE?
