Road to wall street

Hello everyone, nice to meet you all, I am an 18 year old recent HS graduate and I've decided to take my talents to the world of investment banking and eventually hedge funds, I plan to attend Bellevue college, the most prestigious community college in my state, for no more than two years, ideally one year, and then transfer to a target so I can begin my pursuit of an internship. Can you please provide me with any insight, advice, faults you see in my plan or tips that would help me progress along my journey I would greatly appreciate it, thank you.

Hi! What are the factors that led you to choose the community college? It makes sense from a financial standpoint, but if money's not an issue you really might want to consider attending a 4-year school. It would probably make it easier to transfer to another one. Going from community college to a target school will be very tough, and staying at a CC for two years might put you very behind in terms of recruiting. Also, I would definitely not advise waiting until junior year to search for an internship, especially if you're planning on landing a decent one. I'm no expert, but that's what I pick up on right from the start.

Thanks for the advice, have you heard of anyone transferring from cc to target?

If you only write in a decent form when you're getting graded, you're going to run into problems in investment banking.

At the very least, you risk posting requests for help on a web forum with lazy sentence structure and find that people dwell on your poor construction rather than answering your request.

Those who can, do. Those who can't, post threads about how to do it on WSO.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound like a dick but that's just the first thing I noticed.

To give you something constructive, I would focus on getting as close to a 4.0 as possible and then transferring to a target. If you can demonstrate interest (why exactly you want to do banking/HF etc.) and learn some technicals, you could realistically get an internship at a small HF, boutique IB, or PE shop in Seattle assuming you can pass a simple fit test. I ended up doing a couple PE internships in my hometown the summers after my freshman and sophomore years and they were definitely beneficial for me.

There are threads on here about people transferring from CC to targets (I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple) - search for them and you may find exactly what you're looking for. Short answer - it's possible, but you'd better have a 4.0 GPA and be a superstar in extracurricular involvement etc. There is a good reason it's basically unheard of
