Rothschild & Co. NYC Groups (2024)

Haven’t seen an updated post, so was wondering if anyone has insight on Rothschild NYC's groups in terms of deal flow, exits, culture, etc.? Have heard decent things about IPR, Industrials, Media/Telecom, Consumer, and mixed thoughts about Rx.

Historically, Rothschild has been an incredibly well performing firm worldwide with some very good years in the US a few years ago, but most recently some groups have not performed as well (LTM).

Rx and Industrials are said to be the strongest historically with IPR (Infra group that came from Industrials) closely behind. Rx and Industrials are therefore considered the “sweatiest” and Rx is still adjusting from recent changes in MDs.

Consumer, Healthcare, and Media/Telecom closely follow (with M&T notably doing mostly Telecom). These groups are all said to have generally great WLB.

Given its strong history and brand, Rothschild US has tons of potential and recent underperformance can probably be attributed to macro conditions, but no one really knows what will happen as the firm goes through changes. I would be optimistic given that the Rothschild name will probably never disappear in finance.

Great culture, great people, pretty good exits to MM PE. The only thing is it is based out of LA, with the NYC Tech presence just starting. Otherwise heard very good things if you want a chill, yet great, experience
