SA Background Checks
Hi, I recently got a SA position for 2025 and the offer is contingent on background checks completion. I am kinda freaking out since I listed a volunteering work experience as an "internship". However, I did all the responsibilities I listed and the dates are accurate. It was more like a high level volunteering or unpaid internship (think of office type of job) at a nonprofit. It was an honest mistake in my resume and I hope it does not affect me.
Additionally, do background checks include college research experience or employment?

Background checks typically will find work experiences, position titles, and dates. But if there is a small difference, it probably won't matter. As long as you're in HR's system and they can vouch for you if it comes to that, you shouldn't have an issue. And annyone is calling anything an "internship" these days so that shouldn't matter either.
Don’t worry at all. You may just need to give them the phone # of someone at the company to say you worked/volunteered there.
