SA Class Sizes (Consolidated)
I find it really surprising by 2022 we don't have an aggregated list of summer analyst class sizes across banks because they vary significantly and can be extremely helpful for recruiting and estimating WLB. I also know that class sizes have changed following COVID.
If you know how many summer analysts your bank took in 2022 for NYC or the entire US, please comment below and I will add. For the sake of comparison, please only include interns working between junior and senior year. I'll update as comments come in. Happy to expand this to multiple years / by group / full time sizes if interest is there.

What does class size have to do with WLB?
Deals completed divided by class size gives you a rough estimate of WLB at a high level, I would bet it's much worse at MOE vs. PJT

goldman is closer to 15-20 interns per classic group in NY and there are 8 of them. Assuming the upper end, we'll say 160 interns in NY for coverage and for Financing group it's approximately another 60 interns maybe 220 interns in NY + another 40-80 (I'm not sure) across the US. I'd say GS takes roughly 250 interns in IBD across the US
They severely over-hired. Can’t wait to see these return offer rates

Centerview took around 40 SAs last recruiting class. Would guess it is the same now.
PWP is 31 in NYC I believe.

USA as a whole is 65 analyst and 23 associate so 88 total
Significantly over-hired but doesn’t seem likely they will cull.

Barclays has 140 across the US including ECM, DCM, etc. “Traditional” banking in NY/CA I think is more like 60-80, but don’t put this in until someone else confirms
Blair is ~100, roughly half in Chicago and the other half spread across regional offices

As someone who graduated a while ago, these class sizes are insane to me. You all should just be aware that if we hit a longer recession these headcount numbers can get much, much lower.
