SF Full-Time Living Situation

Know generally that I want to live near the FiDi area for work-- most likely in Nob Hill.

Have never lived in SF and so I was curious if I could find a studio or 1 BR in a nice / safe area for 2.5k or less.

Will be working at a bank that will be paying 110k for 1st years. Should I try to find a roommate? When should I look into securing housing? How do I find out about housing?

Apologies for all the questions, just a concerned incoming analyst.
