Should I "Pick" an Industry Before Generalist SA Internship?

In theory, the Generalist SA is meant to give you hands-on experience before making a definitive choice. But with the amount of sweats nowadays (I hate that I am also one), would it be best for me to pick a coverage group (say TMT, Biopharma, Industrials) and become as much of an expert as I can on it before the internship? With the minimal knowledge I have now, how could I go about doing so in a way that leaves me content with my choice?
