Should I put this experience on my resume?

I work part time in a boutique bank doing what interns/analysts usually do. But as of late, my MD has been giving me lots of assignments to do with his own personal company (lucky me). He owns his own patent research technology firm used by IP attorneys and large corporates for patent research and shit. Honestly the driest shit I've ever had the misfortune of working in. He's giving me this work because deals have sort of dried up in the past two months at the firm and he wants to keep me busy.

Anyways not to bitch and moan too much, but he told me that he's happy for me to put his company on my resume along with the boutique as separate work experience. Question is, should I put it or leave it off entirely? I know it has nothing to do with banking and it sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the other work experience I've got on the CV (all high finance internships and soon to be Big 4 CF), but should I put it on anyways? Would it hurt or help my CV? I can put a title along the lines of 'patent research analyst' or some shit (but don't have a law degree so I dunno).

Thoughts?
