"baloneymaloney" I know who the MD is in charge of recruiting at a BB at my school, should I try emailing him asking him for coffee or is that too risky?

If you are sociable and can be well prepared, it is a great idea.

Banking is inherently hierarchical and if you can get some face time with the top dog on the recruiting team and get him to like you/go to bat for you/want you, then it will bode well for you.

Good Morning Name,

My name is XXX, and I am a current fresh soph jun sen at XXX University. I saw that you are a MD at (Firm Name). I'm really interested in the 2018 SA program at your firm. Do you have time for a coffee next week to discuss your background and recruitment at (Firm Name)? I've attached my resume for your reference.

Thanks, and I look forward to connecting with you.

Best Regards, Your Name
