Signed a FT offer - now what?

Hi everyone, I'm a non-target kid who has prior MM experience and I managed to land a role at an EB through networking efforts. Anyways, now I signed the contract, and the HR has been silent since. The role starts in July, so I'm feeling very empty now that I have nothing to do or stress about.

How did this process go for you? Also shouldn't the HR start running background checks and asking me for docs as soon as I sign? I know the gig starts in months but feels kind of weird having no info, and I have insane stress as I feel like I'm going to get screwed. Also did you guys negotiate your contracts as AN1? Or is it pointless and they have rigid grids for base / signing?

Also have absolutely no idea where to spend all the free time - what do you guys do to cope with the wait? Should I get a chill gig and plan some vacations? Or tryhard a certification like the CFA? (Lmao) Anyways, please help, any advice or guidance is very appreciated.

Bro chill and enjoy your senior year now that you don't have to stress about finding a job... You've got ~10 months now to have the time of your life before you spend the next 30-50 years working.

HR likely won't do background checks till closer to summer, really wouldn't expect to hear from them for months unless they happen to do a social event at some point for incoming analysts. It's pretty much pointless to negotiate your A1 contract, it's flat across the board for your class.

Congratulations. Relax. Have fun. Travel. Spend time with friends, your boyfriend / girlfriend, family. Make sure you pass your exams.

In my opinion, under no circumstances should you find exams to do or other avenues to stress yourself. Just enjoy this well-deserved time to relax and do what you want to do. While you're at it, spend a few minutes reading the posts on this forum about burnout, mental health issues, and wanting to quit - just to put into perspective the luxury of your free time now (and hopefully you have one of the positive experiences in IB!)

Get in the best shape you can, date, party, hang out with close friends, and take advantage of the freedom you have now that your future is secure. Make memories and try the things you wanted but never got the chance. Take as many photos and videos as possible.
