Signing bonus - Laz MM

My offer letter stated my signing bonus would be here in February, but it has yet to come. Has anyone else experienced this? Anyone else at Laz MM yet to get their signing bonus? Suggestions on what to do if it doesn't show up in the next week?

Thanks for your response

Wait it out. The month isn't over yet. I wouldn't go ask an MD what's the deal. Should get in a couple days.

Getting your signing bonus is one of the most disappointing things you will experience.

Thought process "taxes cant be that bad..."

Open envelope .... "WTF who stole $4,500 bucks from me?!?!?!"

Agreed. Totally!

If it doesn't come by next week, just send a polite email to hr, it's not a big deal, I did it before myself when waiting for mine that showed up like a week late. I just phrased the email asking a question about the bonus as opposed to asking when is it going to arrive, and generally they will respond with when it's expected to come or if there was any delays on top of the question you posed.

It will come. Some firms are actually postponing signing bonuses until July. Do not act which firms, because it will result in firm bashing, etc.

funny some firms give you the signing bonus around dec, so you can get a huge tax break if you dont work too much while in school

thisoldthing, are you still waiting for your signing bonus from lazMM? I'm starting at Laz as well, and no bonus yet. Midlly annoying since it was supposed to come in February.

i had/am having a similar situation with my bank. i tried to contact hr numerous times, but yielded no response. when talking with one of my MDs, i just happened to mention it , and without my asking he went and harassed hr until they did something about it. it was nice having someone on my team who really went all out for me (even followed up with me on numerous occasions regarding the incident)

so if contacting hr fails, make friends with a VP or MD soon, and have them help you out
